Household readiness is the ordinary, unexciting work of making a home able to manage a few days without power, water, shops or a working phone network.

What RainWillCome is

RainWillCome is a household readiness service. You answer a short set of questions about your home and the people in it, and it produces a plan for your household rather than an average one: what to have, what to do first, and what to check as the seasons and the local picture change.

This library is the free half. Every guide, every country reference and every calculator here is complete on its own, and none of it asks you to sign up to finish reading.

Who is responsible for it

RainWillCome BV, a private limited company registered in the Netherlands. The register number, the VAT number, the registered address and the name of the director are on the imprint, which is the page that carries the legally binding version of all of this.

It is a small company. That is worth saying plainly, because it explains both the pace at which the library grows and why every page carries the date it was last checked.

How it is paid for

By subscription, from the people who use the product. There is no advertising on this site, no affiliate link in any guide, and nothing here is placed because somebody paid for it to be.

That matters for a library about what to buy. When a page recommends storing water, it is because a national authority says so, and the page names which one.

What this site does not do

  • It sets no cookies. Not for analytics, not for advertising, not for preferences.
  • It runs no analytics and no third-party trackers of any kind.
  • Household data in the product is encrypted in your browser before it is stored, which means the company cannot read it.
  • Nothing you type into a calculator on this site is sent anywhere. The arithmetic runs in your browser and is forgotten when you close the tab.

Getting in touch

If something on a page is wrong, out of date, or wrong for your country in particular, the contact route is on the imprint and a correction is welcome. Guides get corrected and the review date changes when they do.
