Terms of Service
The rules for using RainWillCome.
This document is the contract between you and RainWillCome. It also contains the Acceptable Use Policy, which describes what you can and cannot do on the platform. Plain language throughout. Last updated 2026-09-03.
Who we are
RainWillCome is a household readiness platform operated by RainWillCome BV, a private limited company registered in the Netherlands with the Kamer van Koophandel under number 42138295, VAT identification number NL869890736B01. The registered address is Le Mairekade 77, 1013 CB Amsterdam, Netherlands. When this document says "we", "us", or "the RainWillCome team", it refers to that entity.
Who can use RainWillCome
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. We have chosen 16 as the bar because it is the age of digital consent under the GDPR in the Netherlands, Germany, and several other launch territories. If you are under 16 in a country where the digital-consent age is lower (Belgium, Portugal, and the United States), you still cannot use RainWillCome without us, because we apply 16 across the board.
You must be human. Accounts created by automated means are prohibited and will be removed.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password and your vault recovery key safe. The RainWillCome team cannot recover your account or your encrypted data if you lose both. This is a deliberate consequence of the end-to-end encrypted design, see the Privacy Policy and the /security page for the technical details.
You agree to use a real, reachable email address. We block obvious temporary / disposable email providers at signup. Tax, billing, and account-recovery messages need to reach you.
What we provide
RainWillCome offers an encrypted household readiness toolkit: a personalised plan summary, household walkthroughs, shared encrypted notes for small teams, an opt-in skill directory, and group chat. The platform is provided on an "as-is" basis. Readiness guidance on RainWillCome is not a substitute for instructions from local emergency authorities. If officials issue instructions, follow them.
Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use RainWillCome, and not to allow anyone you invite to use RainWillCome, for any of the following:
- Illegal activity of any kind. This includes (but is not limited to) coordinating violence, trafficking, drug dealing, fraud, money laundering, computer-crime conspiracies, weapons trafficking, or any conduct that is unlawful under Dutch law or under the law of your country.
- Child sexual exploitation material (CSAM). Zero tolerance. We report apparent CSAM to NCMEC CyberTipline (United States) and to Offlimits / EOKM (Netherlands), and we preserve associated records for at least one year for law-enforcement use, in line with the US REPORT Act of 2024.
- Terror or extremist coordination. Planning, glorifying, or recruiting for terrorism or violent extremism.
- Direct threats or planned violence against specific people or groups.
- Harassment, doxing, hate, or stalking. Including slurs, targeted harassment, or publication of private information without consent.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII). Distribution of intimate imagery without consent. We accept takedown requests at /legal/notice-action and aim to act within 48 hours, in line with the US Take It Down Act.
- Spam, scams, or commercial mass-messaging. The skill directory is for genuine readiness networking, not lead generation.
- Bulk account creation, scraping, or automation that bypasses our rate limits or our signup gates.
- Reselling team seats or invite codes to people who have not agreed to these Terms.
- Anything designed to undermine the encryption or security of RainWillCome, exploiting vulnerabilities for purposes other than responsible disclosure, attempting to deanonymise other users, tampering with the Notice & Action process, or introducing malware.
Reporting. If you see content or behaviour on RainWillCome that violates this AUP, you can report it three ways:
- The Report this message button in the team chat, which decrypts only that one message and sends it to our abuse team with your consent. No other messages are exposed.
- The Notice & Action form required by Article 16 of the EU Digital Services Act.
- Email abuse@rainwillcome.com. We aim to respond within 72 hours.
Enforcement. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this AUP. We log moderation actions for our internal audit and publish a summary of decisions in our transparency report. Bans for the most serious categories (CSAM, terror, direct threats) are not reviewable. Other bans can be appealed by emailing legal@rainwillcome.com.
End-to-end encryption: what we promise and what you own
Your vault, your team blobs, and your team chat messages are encrypted on your device before they leave it. The RainWillCome team holds the ciphertext only. We cannot read what is inside your vault, your team notes, or your chat messages. We can produce metadata, see the Law Enforcement Cooperation page for the exact list.
Your skill-directory profile is the one exception. It lives in a server-readable table by design so other users can search it. You choose what to put on the form and you can toggle findable off or hard-delete the row at any time.
We will never deliberately weaken the encryption to make user content accessible to us, to law enforcement, or to any third party. If we are ever compelled to do so, we will fight it through every legal channel available to us and notify users through the warrant canary before complying.
Subscriptions and billing
Foundations (Tier 1), Tailored (Tier 2), and Equipped (Tier 3) are paid monthly subscriptions (€8.99, €19.99, and €44.99 per month respectively, VAT included: the price shown is the price paid, in every country). Payments are processed as follows: for customers outside the Netherlands, Paddle acts as our Merchant of Record and seller of record and is responsible for billing and for charging and remitting any applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST; for customers in the Netherlands, payment is processed by Mollie, with RainWillCome BV as the seller of record accounting for Dutch VAT. In both cases the payment provider handles your card details and RainWillCome does not see or store your full card number, and your purchase may also be subject to the payment provider’s own buyer terms. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not prorate refunds for partial periods unless required by your local consumer-protection law.
EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal under EU Directive 2011/83/EU for distance contracts. Because RainWillCome is a digital service, that right ends when you begin using the paid tier, you waive it by checking the box at checkout.
Your content, our platform
You own everything you write into RainWillCome. Because of the encryption, we do not have a usable copy of it. By using the skill directory, you grant RainWillCome a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display your profile fields to other authenticated RainWillCome users for as long as findable is on.
The RainWillCome software, design, content (including scenario playbooks and source guides), and branding are our intellectual property. You may not copy them for commercial use without permission. You may quote and share them for personal readiness, accessibility, or educational purposes.
No professional advice
RainWillCome is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or emergency-response advice. We do not provide first responder services. In an emergency, call your country’s emergency number. See the safety center for hotlines per country.
Scope of service; disclaimer of warranties
The platform is an informational household-readiness tool: it organises and reframes publicly available guidance into a personalised plan, checklists, and reference material. It is not an emergency-response, medical, legal, security, or professional advisory service, and it does not guarantee any outcome, including your safety or the prevention of loss. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the platform and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any content is complete, current, or suitable for your specific situation. Your mandatory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
Higher-risk content; assumption of risk
Some content, including first-aid and medical-kit material, the medication ledger, and the resilience and tactical playbooks, describes activities and decisions that carry inherent risk. This content is general information, not professional medical, legal, or security advice, and is not a substitute for training or for consulting a qualified professional. You are solely responsible for deciding whether any action is appropriate for you, your household, and your local laws, and you assume the risk of acting on it. In a medical or other emergency, contact your local emergency number and qualified professionals.
Limitation of liability
RainWillCome is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by the law applicable to you: (a) the RainWillCome team is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, nor for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or anticipated savings, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the platform; and (b) our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the platform and these Terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), under statute, or otherwise, is limited to the greater of (i) the total fees you actually paid us for the service in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (ii) one hundred euros (€100). Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Nothing in these Terms affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer, including the conformity rights for paid digital services under EU consumer law, which we do not exclude.
Your indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RainWillCome BV, its operators, and its service providers from and against any claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy; (b) content or information you submit, store, or share through the platform, including in the skill directory or team channels; (c) your violation of any law or of any third party’s rights; or (d) your misuse of the platform. We may assume the exclusive defence of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you will cooperate with us. Nothing in this clause requires you to indemnify us for our own fraud, gross negligence, or wilful misconduct, and this clause does not apply to the extent it is prohibited by the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.
Termination
You can schedule account deletion at any time with Delete my account in the sidebar menu. We keep the encrypted key and account data for 30 days so an obvious mistake can still be fixed, and you can cancel the deletion from the banner shown during that window. After that window, deletion removes your encrypted vault, your skill-directory row, your team memberships, your messages, and your audit history unless we are required by law to retain certain records for longer (specifically, CSAM-related records under the US REPORT Act and billing records under Dutch tax law).
We may terminate your account if you violate the Acceptable Use Policy, if you fail to pay for a paid subscription, or if continued provision of the service becomes legally or technically infeasible.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days before they take effect, by email to the address on your account and by a banner on the platform. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance of the changes; if you do not accept them, you can delete your account before that date.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. However, if you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence, and you keep the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
Country-specific provisions
Italy (Codice del Consumo, Art. 1341 c.c.). By accepting these Terms, you specifically approve the clauses headed “Limitation of liability”, “Your indemnity”, “Termination”, and “Governing law and venue”, and any arbitration / dispute-resolution language in a region-specific addendum.
